The Camera Heritage Museum has the opportunity to acquire the P. Buckley Moss Museum building in Waynesboro. As word of our museum reaches the public, the numbers of visitors and camera donations continue to grow. We are in need of places to display the cameras that are arriving on a weekly basis from all over the world. We would like to purchase the P. Buckley Moss Museum building as a new location for the Camera Heritage Museum. The beautiful building was originally built as a museum, so it would not require any renovation for our purposes. However, we need to raise $6.4 million to purchase the building.

P. Buckley Moss recently donated her museum building and surrounding land to the Virginia Tech Foundation. Virginia Tech does not want the responsibility of maintaining a building so far from campus. Thus, the building will be for sale to raise funds for the Virginia Tech Foundation.

Please consider making a difference by contributing to the success of the museum. Because we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, any monetary donation will be tax-deductible. If you would like to donate to the Camera Heritage Museum, please visit our donations page at http://www.cameraheritagemuseum.com/donate/ or send a check to 1 West Beverley Street, Staunton, VA 24401.

Thanks

The Camera Heritage Museum remains as a part of Historic Downtown Staunton thanks to the continuing support from generous donors both in the local community and around the world. The Museum is where it is today because of the financial gifts and donations of camera collections from many people. The Camera Heritage Museum would like to thank these people, as we would not be the culturally and historically significant museum we are today without their support.

Thank you to everyone who has made a donation to the Camera Heritage Museum.

If you would like to support the collection and preservation of antique cameras, please view our Donations page to see how you can help the Camera Heritage Museum.

A. Lewis Bernard Vintage Camera Collection

The Camera Heritage Museum has recently acquired the A. Lewis Bernard Vintage Camera Collection from the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

This collection includes many fine antique cameras, accessories and images totaling over 900 separate items. The generosity of the Hilliard University Art Museum combined with complementary shipping by Wilson Trucking of Fishersville, Virginia made it possible to transfer the Bernard Vintage Camera Collection to Staunton. The transfer is a perfect example of how collectors and museums are becoming unable to maintain a camera collection given the economic and space constraints of their facilities and the conflict of their missions with camera collecting. They are now seeking alternate facilities to hold their camera collections and the Camera Heritage Museum is being recognized as a facility dedicated to preservation of cameras.
